WALKER VOICES

Bethany has been at Walker since Early Learners, so it’s been 11 years. We were looking for an independent school option because the schools in our zone are not the worst, but not the best, either. We have one child, and we were not willing to experiment. We visited Walker and knew it was where we wanted to be from the time Admission Director Katherine Harrison met us at the door. It was absolutely the best choice. And that’s not just us – Bethany loves it here. We have gained a community for Bethany and for us. I think Walker’s biggest strength is their focus on the whole child. You will get a robust education, but you can also walk away knowing that your kid is going to be a good human.

WHERE WALKER LEADS
When Walker students reach the end of their Upper School journey, they are averaging a 1310 and a 30 composite SAT and ACT score, respectively. They’re setting foot on prestigious college campuses like Case Western, Columbia University, Cornell University, University of Chicago, Emory University, University of Georgia, Georgia Tech University, Howard University, University of Michigan, Northwestern University, Spelman College, Tulane University, University of Virginia and Vanderbilt University and more. They are making names for themselves, too, creating iconic stories like Humans of New York, founding pioneering search engines and being drafted to the NFL and MLB.
How do we help them get there? By knowing each student deeply, challenging them to stretch their potential and giving them the guidance, opportunities and confidence to pursue every passion. It’s all possible at Walker.
EXCEPTIONAL OPPORTUNITIES IN EVERY GRADE
Kindergartners who code. Fourth graders diving into chemistry and zoology. And Upper School students pursuing advanced independent research. This is how students learn when given the confidence to explore fearlessly. People do extraordinary things when you believe in them.
